How This Calculator Works

Your retirement balance comes from three things: what you already have, what you add each month, and the return those grow at.

Because growth compounds, the money you invest early works far harder than the money you invest late — this is the single biggest factor in how much you retire with.

How the projection works

Each month your balance grows by the monthly return, then you add your contribution:

balance = balance × (1 + r) + contribution
  • balance — your savings balance
  • r — monthly return (annual return ÷ 12)
  • contribution — your monthly deposit

The 4% rule

To estimate monthly retirement income, the calculator applies the widely-used 4% safe withdrawal rule: you can likely withdraw 4% of your balance in the first year and adjust for inflation after that. Your estimated monthly income is your balance × 4% ÷ 12.

Tips to retire with more

  • 1

    Start early

Time is the biggest lever. Starting 10 years earlier can more than double your balance — even with the same monthly contribution.

  • 2

    Increase contributions

Raising your monthly contribution by even 500 riyals compounds into a dramatically larger balance over decades.

  • 3

    Mind the return

A higher return grows your money much faster, but higher returns mean higher risk. A 7% long-term average is a common planning assumption.
