How This Calculator Works
Car insurance in Saudi Arabia comes in two types: third-party (ضد الغير), the legal minimum that covers only the damage you cause to others, and comprehensive (شامل), which also covers your own car against accidents, theft, fire and natural events.
This calculator estimates both premiums from three inputs — your car value, your age, and your deductible — using average Saudi market figures, so you can compare the two types side by side before you buy.
How the estimate is calculated
The estimate uses two simple, transparent rules based on typical Saudi market pricing:
- Comprehensive ≈ 2.5% of your car value per year, adjusted by age and deductible.
- Third-party ≈ a flat 800 ﷼ per year, adjusted by age.
Age factor
Younger drivers pay more because they are statistically more likely to have an accident. The calculator applies a multiplier by age bracket: under 25 pays the most, 50+ pays the least.
Deductible (التحمل)
The deductible is what you pay out of pocket per claim before the insurer pays the rest. A higher deductible lowers your annual premium — but only for comprehensive cover.
Tips to lower your premium
- 1
Keep a clean driving record
No claims means a lower price at renewal. Some insurers offer a no-claims discount.
- 2
Choose a higher deductible
If you can afford a larger out-of-pocket amount per claim, a higher deductible lowers your annual comprehensive premium.
- 3
Compare providers
Premiums vary between insurers for the same car. Get quotes from several before renewing.
